A late part two

Well I have been pretty busy, and haven't had time to post, but I finished the scarf.... It's pretty short and wobbly, but hopefully my mom won't care! Now I'm going to try one for Ella, at her request.

She modeled it for me two different days, in two different dress-up outfits

And here are some pictures of the long time coming pillowcase dress. I guess it doesn't really need to be done until summer...

Here is the first sleeve with the bias tape

Hopefully Part One!

I do hope to make another post today, centered around WIP. But I had a special request I wanted to honor. So here is my cleaning around the house look in all its glory:

I couldn't get a good shot

This is one of my favorite around the house shirts, a man's shirt from Mexico

And here is my braid

So I also haven't had a chance to post my photos from the 14th. No, not hearts and roses, tigers!

Here is Ella celebrating the Chinese New Year
(If you can't guess it's the year of the Tiger)

GRRRRRRR!

Ella was actually born in the year of the Dog, but I really was born in the year of the Tiger. Hopefully this will be my year!

Overdue

I posted a link to WIP Wednesday, which I joined, and then I didn't have time to actually post my work in progress! I finished my first knitting project ever, which started as a scarf for my mother and somehow ended up a blanket for Ella's doll Molly...

Oh well, at least she's happy! I started a new scarf for my mom, and also got the material I need to make three more bags and finish Ella's dress.

Ella took this picture

I have been teaching Ella how to use the camera, and she loves it. She gets very excited when she can figure out how to point the camera at what she is trying to capture.

Yesterday

Yesterday I started making a pillowcase dress for Ella. I think I could have made the whole thing, but I need some bias tape and have no car this week. Being without a car has been tough, but in many ways a blessing. Not unlike having no phone, it seriously cuts down on the self-inflicted stress of "should-bes" and "should-haves"(as in "I should be doing such-and-such right now"). I have been getting a little creative in the kitchen also, considering I have no way of going grocery shopping. Around the beginning of the year a strange sense of peacefulness descended on me, and no matter what other emotions crop up, I keep defaulting back to it...
How wonderful!
